PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald)— Some pictures shared in the social media said some major Cambodian tycoons hosted a party reception for the two electing vice president of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
This party was believed taking place yesterday at Cambodiana hotel, according to facebook’s sharing.
Some of the tycoons, including Kith Meng, president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Royal Group; Ly Yong Phat, chairman of L.Y.P Group and owner of newly establish a TV station PNN, Lao Meng Khin, chairman of Shukaku, the private company that develop the controversial Phnom Penh’s Boeng Kak ; Sok Kong, chairman of Sokimex, and other.
Say Chhum and Sar Kheng were elected on June 20 as the vice president of CPP along with Prime Minister Hun Sen who was elected at the same time as the president of the ruling party.
Both were bestowed honorary titles Say Chhum as “Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum” while Sar Kheng with “Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng.” on June 14.
