Cambodia awarded the army-general-level order for nine Vietnamese at a ceremony in northern Thai Nguyen province on June 12.
The nine recipients of the order included former Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu, Director of Thai Nguyen University Prof. Dr. Dang Kim Vui, Rector of Thai Nguyen Medical-Pharmaceutical University Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Son, Rector of Thai Nguyen Agriculture-Forestry University Assoc. Dr. Tran Van Dien, and Rector of Thai Nguyen Pedagogic University Assoc. Dr. Pham Hong Quang.
The conferment is Cambodia’s recognition of the officials’ outstanding contribution to personnel training for Cambodia, serving the country’s defence and construction and further cementing the close and long-lasting Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.
On behalf of the award winners, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu and Professor Dr Dang Kim Vui expressed their delight and vowed to continue their work in manpower training and scientific research to enhance the bilateral ties further.
At the ceremony, the Thai Nguyen University presented an honorary doctorate title to Cambodian State Minister Chan Chea, who has spent many years working in Vietnam and establishing education links between the two countries.
