PM expresses condolence over Pen Samitthy's death

Give our kids a better deal 

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed his deep sympathy over the death of Pen Samitthy, President of Club of Cambodian Journalists, editor in chief of Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper and the founder of the Cambodia Herald.

"I and my wife are extremely saddened to learn the passing away of Pen Samitthy President of Club of Cambodian Journalists, editor in chief of Rasmei Kampuchea newspapers and CEN, at the age of 57," he said in a condolence letter to Samitthy's wife Vong Moyura.

"Death of Pen Samitthy is a great loss of good husband for Her Excellency as well as lose of good father for your children," he said.

"In this time of profound grief, I and my wife would like to convey to Her Excellency as well as to Pen Samitthy’s children and relatives my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences," he said.

"I and my wife would like to pray, and may Pen Samitthy rest in peace," he said. 

Khieu Kanharith, Information Minister, and Say Chhum, First Vice President of the Senate and representatives from the media, the ministries, also expressed their condolences to families over Pen Samitthy's death.
