Cambodia's largest sticky rice cake gains Guinness World Records

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Cambodia’s sticky rice cake (Ansom) which is made to celebrate the Angkor Sangkran 2015 broke the World Record into the World Guinness Records.

Union of Youth Federation of Cambodia, the organizer of the Angkor Sangkran to celebrate Khmer New Year, said in its press release on April 13  that the sticky rice cake was listed in the World Guiness Records by the international judge today.

The Union added that the Ansom ( Sticky Rice Cake) weighed 4,040 Kg and was cooked over 45 hours. It is the biggest Sticky Rice Cake ever made. 

It was wrapped by 333 kg of banana leaf, and tied up with 375 kg of banana rope. 

It is made of 1,000 kg of sticky rice, 499 kg of  coconut juice, 15 kg of salt, 499 kg of beans, 507 kg of pork, 507 kg of pork and other ingredients. It was cooked by 100 cooks.

Chan Sophea, a representative of the Cambodian Cook Association, said that as the representative of the cooks and Cambodian people, he is proud that the cooks could make Cambodia into the world record.

Ansom is Cambodia’s traditional cake. It is usually made to bring to the monks and for the traditional ceremonies such as Pchum Ben ( Ceremony for the dead), Khmer New Year and also wedding ceremony.

It's look so crazy but Hun Sen want to proof he was the beggar country in the world can make stick rice cake broke world record. Ha ha ha That Cambodian wonder.
