PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Opposition leader said recently that Cambodian People's Party and Cambodia National Rescue Party are only rivals, claiming that there will be peace after next elections.
"The CPP and the CNRP are not enemies, they are only competitors," Sam Rainsy said Sunday at a public meeting in Stung Treng province.
"The culture of elimination dating from war time was replaced with the culture of dialogue, which is the basis of democracy," he told reporters.
"Whichever party wins the next elections, there will be peace and security for all Cambodians, who will work together for the prosperity and the greatness for the country."
Sam Rainsy's comment came just a few days after Prime Minister Hun Sen warned last week to cancel culture of dialogue, following the opposition leaders' attack against him.
This Tuesday morning, the top leadership of CPP and CNRP cancelled their meeting to unspecific date.
