Cambodian parliament chief satisfied with ties with China

Xinhua - Heng Samrin, president of the National Assembly of Cambodia, said Friday that he was pleased with the good relations between Cambodia and China, which he believes would benefit both countries.

The two nations have enjoyed good ties and cooperation in all fields, particularly in politics, economy, trade, investment, tourism, education and culture, Samrin said during a meeting with Qin Ruixiang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. "As the head of the National Assembly of Cambodia, I'm pleased to see good relations and cooperation between Cambodia and China," he said, pledging to continue enhancing bilateral ties for mutual interests.

Samrin asked Qin to encourage more Chinese businessmen and tourists to invest in and visit Cambodia.

He also extended his gratitude to the Chinese government, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people for supporting Cambodia in its socio-economic development.

For his part, Qin said his visit to Cambodia was to push forward cooperation in legislative sector and pledged to further promote cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, investment, tourism and culture.

Qin arrived here Thursday for a three-day tour. He will also visit Chinese companies in Cambodia during the stay.
